Come on in, the water’s fine!
I’m Billy Brown, but you can call me Chill Bill. I wasn’t always that chill.
I’ve been cold plunging my whole life. As a boy, my dad and I would roll in the snow or leap into Lake Couchiching, then race back to the hot tub. That lake is sacred to me, and so is Georgian Bay.
I lost my dad at 21, and for years substances kept me from what I actually needed: real connection, with people, with nature and with myself. Losing my mom in 2024 cracked me open and brought me back to myself. Once I got honest, everything changed. I learned to feel instead of numb, to feel safe in my body and to trust myself again.
Now I help people, and their nervous systems, find their chill using cold, sauna, breath, food and play, all baked into a tasty community. I co-founded the Couchiching Cold Community, 600+ people in Orillia who plunge and show up for each other all winter long. I also teach breathwork and cold to men facing addiction at a local treatment centre.
With a zoology degree, a holistic nutrition designation and 500 hours of yoga training, I love the science, but I don’t make it complicated. I break it down so it actually makes sense, then help you feel it in your body. My workshops are grounded, playful and safe. No extreme protocols, no tough-guy stuff. Whether you’re a seasoned plunger or terrified of your first ice bath, I’ll be right beside you in the cold.
I’m basically an otter. Come play.
